There is a polarised version (C7P) with one squared-off side; it will not fit a round C8 inlet, which explains many "why won't this plug go in" moments.
Tips & tricks
Check whether your device needs the round (C7) or one-flat-side polarised (C7P) version; they are not interchangeable.
