Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites work and understand how they are used. Find Your Cable keeps its use of cookies to a minimum. Here is exactly what we use.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _gid, _ga_XXXXXXXX | Google Analytics | Measure site traffic and usage in aggregate, anonymously. Set only after you accept the cookie banner. |
| fyc_consent | Find Your Cable | Local storage that remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we do not ask again. |
| fyc_poke_dismissed, theme | Find Your Cable | Local storage that remembers you dismissed the suggestion prompt and your light or dark preference. Stays on your device only. |
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which connectors and pages are useful, so we know what to improve and document next. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Retailer and affiliate cookies
When you click a "where to buy" link, the retailer you visit (for example Amazon, Thomann or Reichelt) may set its own cookies to run its site and attribute purchases. Those cookies are governed by that retailer's own policy, not ours.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; some features may then behave differently. To opt out of Google Analytics across sites, you can install Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
